Dr. Kohlenberg’s clinical work includes the assessment and multimodal treatment of stress. Examples of conditions typically impacted by stress include chronic pain, anxiety, and a variety of health issues.
Certification & Licensure
Dr. Kohlenberg’s clinical certifications include Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH & SCEH), Biofeedback (BCIA), Heartrate Variability Biofeedback (BCIA), and Gestalt Psychotherapy (GIR).
Sam is a Licensed Professional Counselor licensed in Colorado and Michigan, and is an Approved Clinical Supervisor (CCE).
Dr. Kohlenberg has worked as an Adjunct Faculty at Naropa University’s Graduate School of Counseling & Psychology, MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Mindfulness-based Transpersonal Counseling, where he instructed from 2017-2020. He is a Teaching Fellow at Saybrook University in the Department of Psychophysiology, College of Integrative Medicine & Health Sciences. Sam has also served nationally as a faculty for organizations such as the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis
Dr. Kohlenberg has served on multiple boards and committees for non-profit and clinical and scientific organizations including Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG), the Colorado Counseling Association (Ethics Committee Member, 2013), and the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (Board of Governors Representative 2016-2019). He served as Founding President of the Colorado Society of Clinical Hypnosis, 2016-2017. At present, Sam is a board member for Alternatives to Violence Project Colorado, serves as president for the President of the Colorado Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and sits on the Public Policy and Legislative Committee of the American Counseling Association.
